WHDLoad?? Whatīs that?
WHDLoad is a tool that makes it possible to run games from a harddisk, even though the game was never meant to be installed to harddisk.
The ultimate WHDLoad machine would be an Amiga 1200 with a 68030 based accelerator with capacity of 32 MB ram or more. A setup like this will make it possible to run about any WHDLoad installed game out there.
However, itīs possible to play some WHDLoad games from even a stock Amiga 600 that only has 1 MB ram.
This is what you should do
Crucial is the limited ram. How to increase ram. Only have one partition on the harddrive, or mount others?? 1 buffer = 560 bytes, no matter if it is for floppy or for harddisk partition. Remove assigns; avail flush
MBPress.lha from aminet.net - 8kb
You need to make some additions to your startup-sequence that can be found in S:
C:MBPress
Set ANSWER $RC
if $ANSWER EQ 1
skip noboot
endif
if $ANSWER EQ 0
skip boot
endif
lab boot
(here you have the normal startup-sequence)
lab noboot
(here you place your own start script with everything you want, for instance a startmenu)
RC = 0 = no mousebutton pressed
RC = 1 = left mousebutton pressed
RC = 2 = right mousebutton pressed
RC = 3 = both mousebuttons pressed
